THE GREEN HOME

The National Building Museum

EXHIBIT

Role: Interactive Producer and Educational Content Director

One of the first major exhibits to explore sustainable residential design, it included an eco-prefab house built into the gallery (Michelle Kaufmann’s “Glidehouse”), a video tour narrated by the architect, and “true cost” price tags placed throughout the home. We also created an interactive in which visitors could manipulate the water and electricity usage of an off-the-grid home, an energy consumption animation, as well as resource guides for visitors to use after their visit.

Several years later, we created a series of videos for a related exhibit called “The Green Community” that explored places where citizens, political leaders, planning and design professionals and others are working together for a more sustainable future. Tangent’s videos featured green communities on-the-move including Freegans in New York City, Critical Mass riders in San Francisco, and Guerilla Gardeners in London.
